In this lesson students will work towards the objective: use the idea of the Earth’s rotation to explain day and night and the apparent movement of the sun across the sky.
They will first learn about how our understanding of day and night has changed over time before understanding the science behind the suns ‘apparent’ movement across the sky. In this lesson, students will learn about thermal conductors and insulators. They will learn what materials are thermally conductive and how they are used to help us e.g. radiators. They will look at how the particles behave in thermally conductive materials and using a thermocolour sheet will carry out tests on various materials.
